Black border around the screen with Catalyst driver

I’ve installed Catalyst driver and the black border appeared. I used vesa one before.

This thread helped me resolve the problem.

~$ aticonfig  –query-monitor

~$ xrandr -q

Now I know my DISPLAYTYP parameter for aticonfig -query-dispattrib is dfp1.

Just to make sure I query a parameter before change

~$ aticonfig –query-dispattrib=dfp1,positionY
positionY attribute information of monitor dfp1 :
default:43, value:43, min:0, max:1080, step:1

My top board is 43 pixel wide. Change it to 0.

~$ aticonfig –set-dispattrib=dfp1,positionY:0
Set positionY adjust of monitor dfp1 value : 0 success.

Same thing for other borders.

~$ aticonfig –query-dispattrib=dfp1,positionX
positionX attribute information of monitor dfp1 :
default:76, value:76, min:0, max:1920, step:1
~$ aticonfig –set-dispattrib=dfp1,positionX:0
Set positionX adjust of monitor dfp1 value : 0 success.
~$ aticonfig –query-dispattrib=dfp1,sizeX
sizeX attribute information of monitor dfp1 :
default:1767, value:1767, min:1129, max:1920, step:1
~$ aticonfig –set-dispattrib=dfp1,sizeX:1920
Set sizeX adjust of monitor dfp1 value : 1920 success.
~$ aticonfig –query-dispattrib=dfp1,sizeY
sizeY attribute information of monitor dfp1 :
default:994, value:994, min:635, max:1080, step:1
~$ aticonfig –set-dispattrib=dfp1,sizeY:1080
Set sizeY adjust of monitor dfp1 value : 1080 success.

It’s fixed.
